“Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
because it means you’ve made a difference.
It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.”
Now I wish I could take credit for this or contact the author in some way to thank them, but unfortunately the author is unknown. So whoever you may be, thank you!
I am really taking the time, while I have it, to do some praying and thinking about the future and God’s plan for me. It is scary not knowing what is going to happen, but with great faith and realizing that when I am blaming myself for things, I can still be thankful. Not that I am blaming myself at this moment, but I came across this today and it really got me thinking. I am so glad I saw this. No matter what happens in life, especially when I fail, I must remember that being thankful will make that feeling a little easier on me. I hope the poem inspired you a little bit and I hope you all see how important it is to be thankful at all times, good and bad.
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
