THANKFUL FOR: TODAY AND “TOMORROW TOMORROW”

December 23, 2014Uncategorized

“TOMORROW TOMORROW ILL LOVE YA TOMORROW YOUR ONLY A DAY AWAY!!”Tonight, I finally broke down and saw this “new Annie.” Having seen the first one multiply times and seeing it in musical form also, I just didn’t feel right picturing Annie as anything but the curly red headed orphan. I do understand that times are always changing, but some things will never grow old. This cast was fabulous with Cameron Diaz and, of course, the amazingly talented african american Annie, but for me it will never be as good. Don’t get me wrong, the cast was talented and it was a cute idea with a modern twist, but those who grew up with the original Annie and Daddy Warbucks, will not be as pleased. It has nothing to do with race or anything like that, I mean the new Annie is the youngest girl to ever be nominated for best actress oscar. There is no doubt she is good, but for me it was just not the same. I am sure the younger generation will grow up loving this movie, but for those who grew up with the other one, it will never compare. I am not encouraging you to not watch it, I am simply giving you my opinion!

Today, one funny thing happened that is so ironic I can’t stand it! I went to All About You to get my haircut and right before I left they asked if I would draw the winner out of a fish bowl for a raffle they were doing. I of course said sure and so I did. You will never guess who’s name I drew… I drew Madison Homra’ name and I could not believe it. Sister, whenever you use that new straightener, remember your brother won it for you!

Also, today I got to work again with my Mom and then after dinner we went Christmas light looking. It is not like we have some major attraction in the city of Stuttgart, but I just feel like that is a Christmas Tradition that we should all try include in our Holiday. In return I also believe that we should make a little more of an effort in decorating our houses for the Holiday. It is said to look down a street this time of year and it be pitch black. When I see a sad looking house it just reminds me of Christmas with the Kranks because in that movie the only people who don’t decorate are the ones not celebrating Christmas! Make some effort next year please. For those of you who did, thank you… It makes the whole process enjoyable.

Finally, Hillary returned home. We are all reunited and just in time for Christmas.  We all went to see Annie and that is a wrap for my busy day! I don’t really have any big lessons that I learned today, I am just thankful for such a great, fun day with lots of great, fun people! If you are looking for a cute movie to take the little ones to see… Go see Annie. If you are looking for a new straightener… Go see Madison. If you are looking to BRIGHTEN your Christmas spirit… go light looking! A busy day brings lots and lots of things to be thankful for… Take the time to be thankful, if not I hear Santa doesn’t visit…

And get ready for TOMORROW TOMORROW BECAUSE CHRISTMAS EVE IS ONLY A DAY AWAY!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
