Growing up I remember always wanting to have a sister. I’m not really sure why, but for some reason I have always loved the thought of having a sister. I am blessed to have a little brother, but little did I know, I had several sisters… It just took me a bit to realize it.
I was not blessed with a large family, which I was sad about at one point in my life, but God had a big family for me. I love that my “large family” is made up of close family friends. We may not technically be blood related, but our love makes up for that. We travel together, have lunch together every Sunday, and spend most Holiday’s together. I would not trade this for the world. I love my family and in this family I got 3 sisters. 3 wonderful sisters!
Today just happens to be the youngest of the three’s Birthday. Madison has been in my life for a long time. So long that I don’t really remember when she first became my sister. I can remember endless days of swimming and eating at the Country Club with our mothers. I can remember when we pretended that Golf Cart’s were are cars and we rode those things from Sunrise to Sunset. I also remember when we went skiing together and when we went to the West Indies. That week in the West Indies was so fun and I was legit your older brother… Can we please go back? I am tired of being older.
Speaking of older, how are you already 16? I mean holy moly. Where has the time gone?
Just last year I was the one taking you to school everyday and now you are driving yourself. Now I have to worry about how fast you go down Hemme Rd. and who you hang out with. Man times have changed!
I am super thankful for you Madison. You have become so sassy, but so funny at the same time and I love it. You are just the little sister I was looking for.
I have also learned and seen first hand how to be a strong person because you are prefect example. You have been through so much. The way you have handled all that life was thrown your way is remarkable and you must know how unique that is. You are 16 years old, yet you have strength and wisdom well beyond your years. I am thankful because you have truly made a huge impact on my life. I can’t imagine life without you, sister.
TBH: When I moved to Texas last fall you were one of the people I missed the most. I cannot wait for a fun summer with you right back down the street from me… Then I will have my eye back on you. I hope you know how much I love you and I hope you know that no matter what happens in life, I will always be there for you. I love you in my life and I love you as my sister. Happy sweet 16 ya big head. Here’s to hoping you take the time to read this and here’s to many more years of family love. I am thankful for because you are the blessing I always wished for.
Prayers tomorrow please because I have a stats testat 5:30!
Happy Birthday sister!! You rock my world!
