Today has just not been very fun. This week is a cray week for me because I have two tests and a news report due. I have never been a good test taker which has caused me to struggle. I haven’t really taken a test since finals in December, therefore I am a tad worried. I am very proud of myself though because part of my semester goals were not to worry and if I started to worry, I needed to stop and pray. I have done just that and I have really noticed a big difference. We should do that in all aspects of life really because it is never a good thing to worry, but for me school is really when I start to worry the most. This time it is especially hard because I haven’t taken any tests in these classes with these professors which means I don’t really know what to expect. That is scary. But do you know what I can expect? That God will be with me and that he has a perfect plan. It may involve hardship or hurt (a bad grade), but in the end I have faith that it will all work out. It has before and I am sure that it is now!
So yes, I have been studying for the past two days, but really all day today. It is never fun to study, especially on the weekends, but I really hope it pays off this week. Today, this rough task of studying all day was made easier by the sermon at church this morning.
Pause: I am so thankful I would a church here in Fort Worth that I look forward to going to every Sunday morning. Definitely an answered pray for me!
We are currently going through the book of Philippians, which is full of wisdom and God’s love. We started when we came back from break so we are into the book for sure! Today we were still in the first chapter verses 13-26. Lots of good points were made, but my favorite was this:
“The opposite of anxiety is gratitude.”
This is so true. If you think about it, just like I said a couple of lines up, when we worry we should immediately start praying. When we pray we should ask God for things, but instead we should overwhelm him with gratitude for all he has done for us. The little things and the big things. It doesn’t matter. I have said that before, but today it finally sunk in for me. Thanks to church this morning I started the day off with a good attitude for studying, which was so perfect. It still wasn’t easy, but I felt a lot better. I just don’t know how much to study so that kind of has me stressed, but I stopped and thanked God for today. He knows I am worried. He will be there for me. The best thing I can do is be thankful. Remember that next time you have anxiety or feel scared. Gratitude will be the best medicine.
I have one test tomorrow night at 7:00and another on Wednesday at 12. I think this might be the most stressful week as far as tests for me, besides finals. Just think, this time next week I will have other things on my plate. So if you would like to send up some prayers for me, I would love that. I know I can do well, I just need to remember to pray and put my trust in God. As long as I do that, everything will work out. Gosh I am so thankful for this message that cam just at the right moment! Take this into the week.
