I have so much to be thankful for at the moment…it’s going to be hard putting it into words…but you all know I have never had a problem with that.
Since I am on vacation, I have taken full advantage of that and I am trying to unplug a little. But, y’all also know I have had a problem with that as well. So, while I am away, I have decided to write every other day. I hope that works with you. The good thing is that with fewer posts I am sure to have more information coming your way.
I am literally enjoying every aspect of life at the moment. Hawaii does that to you. The sun is shining and adventure is out there; we are loving it.
Yesterday was a full day of living life! We had a good breakfast while watching the Razorbacks, we went to a local beach with waves bigger than hair in the 1980’s, and then, I went on an afternoon scooter excursion with my Kiss and Uncle Jeff. The three of us rented these scooter/mopeds and have been using them as a way of transportation during this vacation. So much fun. They are huge here in Hawaii. We rode all up and down the coast and even saw Oprah’s private rode to her house. It was a good time with two of the coolest people. Then, we all had dinner on our lanai, which consisted of fresh Hawaiian fish, while watching the sunset.
Today, Dad and I started the day at 5 a.m. and went on a scuba excursion. Such a cool experience. We went to two different locations and saw all sorts of cool things including a shark, a manta-ray, colorful fish, and more. Just being out on the ocean and seeing the sunrise with Dad was pretty fun. Something I will not forget. I also loved being out their when the TCU Horned Frogs beat those LSU Tigers at the CWS. We got to catch the end of the game and even took some cool pics under water showing our frog spirit. (See below). We sent the rest of the afternoon poolside under a great cabana, where they treated us like royalty. The pools here are like a mini water park; lazy river, water slides, rope swings, etc. It was a lot of fun in the sun. Speaking of the sun, my tan is looking good (in case anyone was wondering).
I am just thankful to be this lucky, to enjoy a trip like this, with all of these exciting things. Seeing other parts of the world makes me thankful for the things I have, and thankful for the things I don’t have. I love that. For example, this morning at Starbucks I asked for a medium…but they gave me a mini. I am guessing they couldn’t quite understand me. (LOL) I was still thankful for that coffee early this morning, medium or not.
I’ve got to go because we are having steaks overlooking this great place and the ocean. I just want you all to join me in being thankful for what you have and don’t have. Either way, life is great. That’s the lesson of the day. Aloha!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
