As all the guys at TCU prepare for formal rush this weekend they require us to attend events every night and tonight’s was great. The 136 Story and film was shared with us by a former student who personal knew Aaron Pennywell. Aaron was a 20 year old who lost his life because of a drunk driver on June 25, 2011. I know that you hear stories like this often, but this really hit home because of the documentary that we watched. It was put together by his family and friends who personally told the story and to this day they share this documentary and story with anyone willing to listen… all to help save others. It is truly amazing that they have taken their anger and used it to benefit others. Aaron’s mother, father, and brother all spoke with such passion in the film. I could never imagine something like that happening, but today I am so thankful for them and the message that they work to spread everyday. It takes a warrior of God to do something like that and they are the people who are making this world a better place. It really makes you think. You never know what could happen in life and that is why we need to be thankful everyday. I highly encourage you to look further into this story. God obviously had a different plan for Aaron and his family, but you can tell that they are following his path and assisting in Aaron’s plan. Our plans are not the same as God’s, but once we realize this and trust in him life starts to make sense. To the family and friends of Aaron Pennywell, thank you. You are impacting lives everyday and have for sure impacted some today at TCU. I can’t imagine how hard it is, but I thank you because the work you are doing will not go unnoticed. I know Aaron is so proud of the work you are doing. Thank you for sharing with us and thank you for teaching us several lessons.
1. Trust God
2. Follow his path, easy or not
3. Live everyday to the fullest and be thankful
4. Do NOT drink and drive

Thank you for the comments. I am very sorry I wasn’t able to be at that presentation. I will be there next year. It is very hard for us to do these. If we can stop one family from having to go through this hell, it is worth it.
