THANKFUL FOR: SUCCESSFUL GROUP PROJECTS

November 19, 2015Uncategorized

One thing that most college students will complain about in college is having to do a group project. In high school we liked these better because our schedules weren’t as packed and it was easy to work with people you had gone to school with for most of your life. You knew how everyone thought and worked. In college, group projects are sometimes miserable, especially if you are the one doing all of the work. Everyone is so busy running in a different direction and it is hard to get everyone together to meet and work on your project. Somehow last year I never had one group project. Somehow this semester I have one in every class and they are all at the end of the semester, which makes things 10x more inconvenient. My first group project was assigned early in the semester. It feels like we have been working on it the whole semester. It is for Public Relations and we were given an organization/problem. We were supposed to work together as a group to provide ways to fix the issue at hand and give the group that hired us ways to do so. We literally had to do all this work and research because that is the job. Everything we have learned in that class and all the work my group and I did came down to today when we pitched our proposal to the group that hired us. Kind of an important moment. A moment of truth for sure.

I want to give my group a shoutout because we handled it so well! All the horror stories I had heard when it came to group projects were not accurate of this group project. My group and I worked very well together and I am thankful for that because I think it made the project such a success. Thanks team… I am going to miss our constant meetings, but we can always meet to do anything but PR work! (Not pictured: Caroline)

Like I said, the presentation or pitch went very well. I really think the various people we pitched to enjoyed and appreciated our ideas. I really hope our grade reflects how we felt about it. I am thankful for my group, but with that being said I am also thankful it is over and that it ended in the best way possible. I mean I could think of 1,000 other things that would have been worse than doing this. This taught me a lot about PR, which is the profession I am going into and I like it so that is also cool!

Overall it was very productive day! I would like to tell you that you should be checking back/looking at social media because I have a big announcement that I am dying to share with you all!! I think you are going to be as excited as I am!! Tomorrow (friday) is the day… You and I will both be extra thankful!

Group projects are not as big of a deal as I thought… But with that being said check back with me after I do four more in the next month (LOL).
Super thankful for the opportunities to learn and prepare for the work field. I am so glad this project was a success and I am hoping tomorrow will be the same. As always, I am thankful!

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful

Hey There

Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God’s steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
