THANKFUL FOR: SOPHOMORE PART 1

December 17, 2015Uncategorized

Things I learned 1st Semester Sophomore Year:

1. The business school and I are not meant for each other
2. In order to succeed, you have to step out of your comfort zone
3. Southern and Thankful is a brand
4. I am a person – there is more to me than a blog, t-shirts, and followers
5. Having a personal printer saves lives
6. @lusciousloucks more than any person I know (it’s okay though kill that final tomorrow)
7. Taking accounting was a massive mistake
8. Group projects can be fun
9. Finding a spot in the Greek is like participating in the Hunger Games
10. @taylorswift and I could be (are) great friends
11. Singing to dogs at the animal shelter doesn’t really help their situation @laughoutlandon
12. Mom and dad are always right
13. You can make it to your 9:30 in 4 minutes if you sprint
14. @sam_baxter2 is very reliable when it comes to seats on game day
15. Having facial hair is hairy
16. Running a business and being a full time student is possible
17. True friends are hard to find and a treasure to have
18. The “sophomore slump” is real
19. Beating Baylor is enjoyable
20. My God is an awesome God

R.I.P to the hardest semester yet at one of the best places on earth.

Of course, I have learned many other things, but these are the ones that first come to mind. Gosh, this semester has changed me in so many ways. God has taught me a lot and at times learning wasn’t easy, but looking back I am nothing but thankful. I want to thank all those who are so faithful and loving to me. Some days I wouldn’t make it if it weren’t for that encouragement. This last week especially. Finals week was so crazy. From panic attacks to major lack of sleep and studying in the laundry room, I am so thankful to be home in my bed. I will not slip into a finals week induced coma until Christmas! But I will still be so thankful. Here’s to the good, bad, scary, and exciting moments from this semester. God used them all to get me to where I am today. I am very lucky and very thankful.

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful

Hey There

Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God’s steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way. A recent graduate from Texas Christian University who loves pop culture, TikToks, and dress pants that make you do a double take.  I pray God has a grand purpose for me and I plan to get there with a little Southern and a lot of Thanks! Join me!

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
