Today was such a fun day, but unfortunately it was the first of many see you later’s for my friends and I. I love the phrase “I’ll see you later” because it is so true. Just because we are separating for college does not mean that we will no longer be friends. The amount of effort a person puts in to his or her friendship is souly up to them. If you want to keep that friendship… It is possibly. Yes, it will be different and at times hard, but that is only what makes the friendship stonger. Tonight 4 of my greatest friends and I spent our last time together, at least for a while, and it was very bittersweet. My dear friend Maycen will leave Tuesday to start a new chapter at Mississippi State University! Like any incoming Freahamn (including myself) she is nervous, but from my view I am excited! When I think about this new time for her I think of all the possibilities and all the opportunities she will face. I will miss her because she understands my need to be structured, she allows me to mess with her and she messes right back, and I generally love her for who she is. My life will not the the same without these 3 ladies, but I know they will be making others so so happy. I am SO thankful for our friendship. It has taught me things. It has made me laugh. It has made me cry. It has made me question my sanity. It has made me the person I am today. It has showed me love. Did I mention it made me laugh? Most of all it taught me how to be a friend. I am thankful for you 3 and I will always be. Be thankful for close friends because they are so important. Be thankful for See You Later’s because that leaves the door open to different paths of excitement with one common ground in the middle. I pray our friendship is stronger than ever. I pray we use our phones. I pray that you remember who you are. I pray that you are always my friends. And on that note we are all THANKFUL.
(Ending in happy tears)
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
