I am currently on route back to Stuttgart from a day spent in Hot Springs, where I cheered on the Stuttgart Ricebird cheer squad at the state championship! It has been a fun little road trip with Lauren, Olive, and Aidan to cheer on our favorite cheerleader, Madison! The thing that I miss about high school is the times with the cheer squad. I was the mascot, which has a major blessing, and at times I miss those days. I love the cheer squad and I can’t imagine my high school career with out them. I was so happy to be able to go watch and cheer them on… They deserve it for sure! They competed against a lot of good teams and I was proud of how great they looked and represented Stuttgart. They did not take home the trophy, but they did recieve 3rd place and they were very close overall. Sometimes we want something so badly, like I am sure they wanted so badly to win, but when things don’t go our way we have to remember that they are going God’s way. Even though it would have been great to win, the important thing to look at is how much they have improved and how much fun they had as a team. Today, I remembered how good it was to be a Ricebird! I am thankful for the macot I grew up loving and that I have the privilege of saying that I am a Ricebird! You should take a minute to be thankful for the high school you grew up at… It is a big part of you, no matter what you think. Congrats to the Ricebird cheerleaders on a great competition season. I hope you are thankful for this time in your life and all you have accomplished. I know I and many other fans are thankful also! I am glad I was able to spend the day cheering for the best team in the South! Thankful to support the Ricebirds… All the time!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
