1. Two sweet friends who just so happen to share the same day of birth, which is today!
2. A wonderful presentation from the fabulous Giuliana Rancic who presented us with her testimony which was pretty awesome to hear.
I always love celebrating friends birthday’s because I love celebrating the people good put in my life. Today my two friends, Kamryn and Brooke, celebrated their 19th birthday’s! How ironic that two of the coolest girls that I have meet at TCU share the same special day. That makes it that much more special! Thanks you two for being such God loving girls who take the time to be my friend. I am honestly more thankful for you than you know! I hope your day was filled with all your favorite things, lots of laughs and lots of love. I know I sure love you! Happy Birthday friends!
TCU always has great things going on around campus and that was something that attracted me to this school. Tonight we had Giuliana Rancic, who is on E! News and is a very successful woman in life. She basically shared her testimony with christ and in the workforce. I got to sit front row, which was crazy fun and she even pointed straight to me when she addressed the low amount of men in the crowd. Good thing she saw me, right? I really enjoyed her stories of how she worked hard and worked her way up. She had a lot of great points and then she began to talk about how she was unable to become pregnant. This is something I will never be able to truly understand, but it was a major deviation for her and she talked about how she used to pray to God about ask why he hated her. Long story short, she later found out she had breast caner and realized that God was really protecting her the whole time. She had a type of breast cancer that feeds off of the hormones from pregnant women and if she would have become pregnant before she would out she had breast caner, then she would have had a much worse battle. In the same year she was diagnosed, she was able to have a child through a different measure, but she also said she remembered then praying asking God why he loved her so much. The whole time she thought he was hating her, he was really protecting her and loving her. She then talked about how we have to have faith in faith because no matter what, God has a plan.
Sounds familiar, right?
She then shared that every morning when she is driving to work she thanks God for all the little things.
Sidenote: I almost cried when she said this. This is all I want people to do in life and to know someone who is so busy and such an example does this made my whole week. That is all I want to do in life. To know that someone like her does that makes me have hope in this world.
She said that if we are thankful for the little things in life, all the big things will follow and her story is a testament to that.
I would have loved to meet her, get a picture with her or even share my blog with her. How cool would that have been? I just felt so refreshed knowing that a celebrity had the same thirst for thanks as I do. I now know that you can do whatever you want with faith. You can even be a celebrity. Not that it will happen for me, but it was so nice to hear this from one. I am so thankful for her message and the light she shines in this country. She is a wonderful example that I know I learned from. Wow I can’t even really put the feeling into words. So special!
So thank you TCU, yet again for providing me with such wonderful things. Great friends and a great speaker, a celebrity in that matter, with a great lesson all in one day. I am incredibly thankful! Learn from my experience today and from Giuliana Rancic’s life story. It is a pretty special one that I will always be thankful for! Dream big, stick to your goals and always give thanks!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
