I know everyone has the thing that I like to call “guilty pleasure food.” It can be anything really. It is typically what you eat when you are:
1. Sad
2. Happy
3. Nervous
4. Scared
5. Worried
6. Hungry (my personal favorite)
It is also typically something that you have to go out of your way to make or get. It isn’t something you have everyday, unless you are depressed often and if so your guilty pleasure food won’t fix that. Just a thought! You might have this like once a week.
Here are some examples:
-McDonalds Fires
-Cookie Dough
-Ice Cream (hopefully not Blue Bell)
-Fried Chicken
-Oreo’s
-Gummy Bears
-Cheese Dip and Chips
-Potato Chips
-Cupcakes
-Milkshakes
-Snow cones
-okay I am stopping the list because I am getting hungry; you get it.
Also, if your item is healthy it’s not a guilty please food… Just clarifying that for you!
Anyways, mine has changed for sure. Coming from the small town of Stuttgart to the big town of Fort Worth, needless to say my options have grown and grown! I love love love food a lot. So it is hard to pick, but I think I know what mine is. It used to be a special snack every time I was in Little Rock, but now that I have access to it, it has taken the current spot for my #1 guilty pleasure snack. Pumpkin Bread from Starbucks. Of course Starbucks is everyone’s favorite coffee shop, but the baked goods are just as great as everything else they have at Starbucks. I swear. Buy them! I especially love it when my Mom is with me because truth be told, we are both a sucker for this pumpkin bread. If you have never had it, it is to die for (not really, but it’s good). The whole point of this little lecture I have just given you is to be thankful for your guilty pleasure food. I mean today after my last test of Freshman Year (aside from finals), which by the way I made a B on so that is good, I was just needing a pick me up. Nothing picks me up more than my guilty pleasure food. Also, it is fitting that I find my guilty pleasure food at Starbucks because I have tons of gift cards after graduation last May!
I am just saying today I am thankful for my pumpkin bread… Whatever yours may be, whenever you may eat it, be thankful for it! It has gotten me through the worst and best days!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
