THANKFUL FOR: MY GRAY BLANKET

September 18, 2014Uncategorized

Ever since I remember I have always slept with this gray blanket. If you know me then you know of the famous blanket. It is so soft and it just makes me feel like home. It is funny because it was actually my Dad’s college bed spread. So yes, I am continuing the tradition! Before I left Stuttgart for college it was a big issue in my household because my mom did not want me to bring it. In her defense, I was bringing a couple of other great things for bedding, but I mean I always sleep with this and being that I was coming to a place where I knew no one, I wanted it for comfort. The plan was for it to go back home at fall break, but after the first couple of days here I decided to take it off the bed in hopes of learning to part with it. I kid you not, I could not go to sleep. It was the craziest thing. I laid there for hours waiting to go to sleep, when I realized that it was because I didn’t have the gray blanket. I climbed down to get it and fell asleep shortly after. So needless to say, I love this blanket and will never give it up. EVER. I am thankful for it because when I get in bed after a long day, it makes me feel like home. That is my happy place. It has literally been so many places with me, but isn’t that what it’s for? I love it and judge me if you want, but it is something I will always cherish. It is also pretty cool that it was my dads and it has been in the family for a while! I literally don’t know what I would do without it. Be thankful for your “security blanket” whatever it is. It is a part of who we are and I am thankful to have it on this exciting adventure. After a hard day, it is nice knowing that I will be coming home to that!
I just want to give a little warning… I will not be posting tomorrow because I will be camping… Yes, I said camping. Yes, I know what your thinking… Cade doesn’t camp… But it is with my pledge class and it is something I have never done so I am kind of excited (Prayers are still welcome LOL) I don’t know what the conditions will be like so I am just throwing it out there that I won’t be writing tomorrow… No worries, that just means saturdays post will be that much better!
Speaking of my AMAZING gray blanket…I hear it calling my name! I see thankful dreams in my future! Thankful and a comfy bed… WHAT IS BETTER?
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful

Maybe you should have it cut in half and leave one in Stuttgart. Strange things can happen in a dorm!

Hey There

Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God’s steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
