Ever since I can remember I have loved the water! Beach, Lake, River, or even the pool has always been one of my favorite places to be. I can remember being so sad that my JanJan and Bia sold their house with the pool… so many great times and great memories. I believe that is where I feel in love with water. Can you imagine not being able to swim? I mean some people seem to make it okay without that activity, but I just could not do that! Working as a life guard has always been fun because of my love for water. Today as I am baking in the heat I look out at the farm land and think, “I can get in the pool at any second, but they just roast.” So shoutout to the farmers for dealing with the heat and doing a job that many can not! As I was saying, I was baking in the lifeguard chair and I of course could no longer look at the water without myself in it! No one was at the pool today so I basically had my own private pool and I loved every minute of it. It brought back some fun memories and reminded me that I have always been thankful for the water. It is one of those small things that we never think about and rarely thank God for, but today it was something on my mind! Be thankful for an escape from the craziness of life. My escape is of course the water, but I know several others escapes that would satisfy me. An escape is always important because it is often some of the most fun and relaxing times in your life. I mean I always seem to think back to my JanJan and Bia’s pool when I am in water because for years it was my escape. Water saved me from the heat… Boy am I thankful for that escape! Don’t forget to let me know what YOU are thankful for! #ThankfulThursday is tomorrow and it will not disappoint!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
