Okay so I am finally getting around to sharing about my move in experience. This last week has been crazy!
I had to come back to TCU last Tuesday, which was earlier than my move in date because I was accepted to help move freshmen in. This was a great experience! This was also a little inconvenient though because I wasn’t able to move into my room until Saturday. With this crazy schedule plus my parents schedule they weren’t able to come down to help me move in. This meant that I literally had to bring everything I own in my car. My car is not really small but it is by no means big. I was basically homeless all last week. I couldn’t drive my car for obvious reasons and I had to pack a bag full of things. Huge thank you to one of my best friends Patrick Sullivan for letting me stay with him last week at his apartment and for driving me around. Literally don’t know what I would have done last week without you and your hospitality. Thanks man!
Saturday morning I moved all my things in and then slowly started getting everything organized. When we decided I could move in alone I thought it wouldn’t be that bad, but I quickly realized that when you are doing all this organizing and stuff on your own, the process is not as easy. It literally took forever! I have also been to Target 1000 times this past week. I keep needing things. My room is different from last year, which is fine, but that meant that I needed some things that I didn’t already have. One thing I needed was some type of shelf. My mom said to go to target, get a metal shelf, assemble it, and put things on it. So I did. It literally took 2 hours putting together this shelf and carrying it up and down the stairs. In case you were wondering I didn’t get it assembled. I even got friends to help and the shelf seemed like a lost cause. Long story short I returned that shelf and bought a pre-built one. MUCH better idea!
I am so blessed with great friends who helped me move all my things in, helped me assemble things, and helped me get organized. Reminding me why I was so ready to get back to TCU! The move in had me stressed and now class has me stressed, but hopefully everything will calm down soon. Probably not, but one can hope right? I will post some pics of the room below… I am actually very impressed with how good it looks! Eventually I will have to share some tips on how to move in and get organized… I promise I know plenty! So thankful to be moved in and getting settled into Sophomore year. Prayers are always appreciated!
Yours truly,
Southern and Thankful
