THANKFUL FOR: MOM’S CHILI

October 25, 2015Uncategorized

There are some days when you can’t have something that makes you thankful! Most days I share something that happens in my life, but today I am sharing something that didn’t happen! Between the weather, not having any winter clothes and fall getting colder, I’ve been missing some fall traditions. As I went back to my room to have popcorn for dinner, I was talking to my mom and she decided to inform me that she made a pot of chili tonight. I have always liked her homemade chili, but I have never really appreciated it…until tonight when I couldn’t have it. Funny how that works, huh?

I was set in my bed eating basically burnt popcorn (still thankful for it though) and I couldn’t help, but wish I had a bowl of chili! The weather here has gotten colder, making me want warmer fall foods all the time. Can’t wait to be home for thanksgiving and have some homecooked meals… It’s been a while!

So today I am thankful for my Mom’s famous chili because I can’t have it. And because I’d love to be home for some of these falls traditions. It is so hard to believe it is almost November. Time flies when you’re having fun! Be thankful for this last week of October… Winter is coming whether we like it or not!

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful

I loved the pic of Kim and the sweet sentiment about her chili and how you would like to have a bowl. in the past I’ll bet you would have never realized how you would miss certain things of home. I hope all is going well for you. Hope to see you soon.
    Love, Granna

Hey There

Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God’s steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
