Yesterday was a very special day because it was Stephanie’s day of birth and today is also another special day because it is Michelle’s day of birth!!! How ironic that two of my greatest friends were born one day apart! That’s just super nice for me though because that means double the celebrations!!!
Michelle and I’s friendship was just starting to blossom one year ago today… Crazy how much things can change in one year!! I first remember meeting Michelle when she randomly delivered everyone in our dorm hot fresh cookies to their door. One, warm cookies is the way to my heart so I knew I had to be her friend. Two, if that action doesn’t speak for the type of person Michelle is then I don’t know what does. She is the most selfless person I know. She will drop whatever to be there for someone no matter what or when. I guarantee Michelle has done tons of things with me that she didn’t have any interest in doing, but because she knew it would make me happy, she did it without any hesitation.
Examples:
1. Taking accounting with me
2. Driving me and picking me up from the airport
3. Going to get food with me even when she claimed to be poor/on a budget
4. Helping me study for my tests because she wanted to see me succeed
5. Running errands for me just because I didn’t want to go alone
6. Helping me move all my things out last year and in this year
7. Letting me nap in her bed/study in her room whenever
8. Carrying me on your back in the blizzard
9. Taking all my pictures, helping captions, and the occasional edits
Michelle will usually do anything I ask her to do because she gives so much of herself to make her loved ones feel loved. She is SO good at it. I am actually so jealous because since Freshmen year and not living in the same place, things have changed. She is now an awesome RA and now her kids and other friends get to experience that love. It is truly one of a kind!
Michelle is one of my biggest supports. She picks me up when I am down and helps me up the mountain when I am just not sure I can make it. No matter what happens, where life takes us, or how far we drift apart I know Michelle will always be such a special friend to me!
Michelle, you are so special and you are unlike any other friend I have ever had. Thanks for being obsessed with Wicked, traveling, and animal shirts from Wal-Mart. Thanks for putting others first and yourself last. Thank you for showing me what true compassion is. Thank you for trying so hard and everything no matter what! Thank you for all you do for me to make my life extra exciting and special. TCU would not be the same without you. Thanks for being almost inseparable with me last year. Thank you for being my friend at the hardest times. Thanks for going on pointless adventures with me. Thanks for remembering the littlest things about me and knowing me better than most people. Thank you for taking accounting with me when you knew it would not end well. Thank you for being my friend with the biggest smile and heart. Thank you for all you do in our friendship that makes times with you the best!! I sooooo wish we could go back to this time last year because the fun we had was ridiculous! But I am so looking forward to the fun we are going to have other the years. Things may change, but I know when it comes down to it they will always be the same! You are someone I strive to be more like! I am beyond thankful God placed you in my life (with hot cookies) and I am thankful for the way we have grown since then! Here’s to you finally being an adult, your new semester budget, Brachman hall, Italy 2016, and a friendship like no other. I love you more than you know my sweet little Asian friend! Thank you for being you because it helps me be me at the end of the day!
Cherish the people who help you live life in the best way possible! They are more special than you will ever realize! Happy Birthday Michelle!! May you never lose that irreplaceable personality of yours!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
