I would like to give a quick shout out to my tour group yesterday morning at Experience TCU. The weather was pretty nasty, which is never good because it makes the college seem less appealing. My group was super nice and didn’t seem to let the weather bother them one bit… I loved that. Below I attached the selfie that we took. I know some of them are coming next fall and I know some are heavily considering it. That makes me so excited!!
Today was been such a chill day, which was much needed. But today is also one of my sweetest friends birthday!
Maycen, boy am I glad you were born. You have played much a special part in my life thus far and I am eternally thankful for that. I will never forget when I really became friends with you. We used to ride the golf cart all around the neighborhood and man did we think we were something. Some of the craziest things have happened to you (and me), but I am so thankful I was part of your crazy life. By crazy I mean:
A. The time you were in the hospital for like ever and we were so worried about you.
B. The time your phone got stolen and we played detective.
C. The time we missed our flight in the Atlanta Airport coming back from NYC.
D. The time in DC I tried to take your pic getting searched by security and I almost got arrested.
E. The time we went to winter formal together.
F. History with you know who… HAHA.
G. The time we were stranded in the mall with no ride and we thought that was such a big deal. (stranded is a pattern for us)
H. Always seeming to have the same english class as you.
I. The band days… LOL LOL LOL
J. The hug I received from you the first time I saw you after coming home from college… Best moment ever!
Just some crazy memories I will never forget. I will also never forget how encouraging and helpful you were in me becoming the mascot. You always helped me get ready and you always encouraged me to be me. I have always loved that about you. I will always remember the days we stood by each other on the track, cheering on the football team under those Friday Night lights… Man do I miss those days. Speaking of encouraging, I could not have made the college decision without you. Seriously. Throwback to the time we went to Baylor and we thought we were going to be Bears… LOL. But really, I remember being so scared to go out of state. Having someone who was in the same position as me made things so much easier. I kind of felt like the whole time we were in it together. Even though we didn’t end up at the same place I know I will always have you to understand and encourage me. Your heart is so big and even though you like to appear tough (which you are) you have a weak spot for those you love and I am glad I get to see that. It’s because of this I know you are going to make a great vet, wife, and mother one day. I cannot wait to be back in the same place this summer for an extended period of time. More gossip dates, LR trips, movie nights, and nicks trips are in our future and I am anxiously waiting for that. I hope you had a fabulous birthday sister friend. I saw all the insta posts from your new friends and they made me so happy. I am so glad someone is celebrating you today! I could go on and on about you all day, but I will save me love for when I see you again, which is going to be so soon! Thanks for being such a great friend and loving me for who I am. That is so rare in a person and I am thankful I have you… We are all so lucky! I love you precious! See you sooner rather than later! I am thankful for you all the day long… Welcome to 19!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
I love catching up on your blog every day. I know that NYC was so much fun and I loved the pics that you shared of all of you. I pray that these last few weeks of school will bring you much joy, and I look forward to reading of them and the pics that I know you will share.
