I can think of many instances that we would call “long days!” Days of travel, bad days, or when days that go by so very slow may seem long, but they have one thing in common… THEY ARE LONG! Today, was a long day, therefore I looked at the positive side and realized that some things make long days 10x better.
1. Music
2. A good book
3. Comfortable Dress
4. Patience
5. You choose
Music, as I believe we have talked about before, is absolutely something to be thankful for. You can listen to whatever you want, but no matter what, it can almost always make things better. I love to listen to my favorite songs that make me think of happy things or just simply pump me up. The good thing about music is that you can listen to whatever you want whenever you want and it will provide you with whatever you are in the mood for! Music derseves my thanks today!
I just started reading the Hunger Games final book because I am basically obessed with the series and man was I thankful to have that book today. I actually like to read, but there is a differnce between having to read and wanting to read. I hate reading for school because typically the topic is boring or uninteresting to me. I don’t really ever have time to the read the things in life that I want to read, so I am so thankful that I could do what I wanted today. Perks of being on winter break Id say!
I love clothing. I love looking nice and getting compliments. Some people could care less, but there is a fine line between looking nice and looking like you just rolled out of the bed. I know that if you dress to a level that makes you feel good, then those long days wouldn’t be so long. I see people going places in there pj’s or people who are in high heals and they wonder why they are stressed or tired. They are either too lazy or overdressed. You can find that perfect balance and it doesn’t even have to be at an expensive cost! Today, I love my confy winter outfit and even got a few compliments… That is something to be thankful, for sure!
This is a given. Don’t loose your temper. Take death breaths. Always remember that things could be worse. “Patience is a vertiue grasshopper!” I am thankful for patience.
Lastly, look for other things to be thankful for during long days. Mine would for sure be something like food or Starbucks because who doesn’t love that. Sadly, that wasn’t really part of my day, but I am still thankful for it because it would have made a huge differnce I know! So to the things that I didn’t in counter today, know I am so do thankful!
I am currently on an adventure and I am so exited! Next time you have a long day, remember what you need and what you need to be thankful for! A long day can only improve if thankfulness is present!
Yours Truly
Southern and Thankful
