THANKFUL FOR: LOKAI BRACELET

April 9, 2015Uncategorized

So lately I have seen all these people wearing these “Lokai Bracelets”. Yes, I realize that this is not a new thing, but I just really realized what they were. I mean I am sure people have told me, but I guess I never really paid attention because they are actually super cool. The idea behind them is brilliant. I know they have special addition ones, but currently all they have are the classic ones, which was fine with me. I purchased one and I am actually really glad that I did. The funny thing about this bracelet is that I have been meaning to order it forever. I haven’t really seen them in any stores so I figured I would just order it online. I have been wanting one since first semester, but I never took the time to go order it. But I am so glad that I ordered it when I did  because it could not have come at a better time. Coming back from a long weekend at home on Monday I was feeling very low. Not low as in sad, but low as in low on energy. It’s April, the sun is shining, and the birds are chirping. All I want to do is be anywhere, but at school! Like you all probably know, it is hard to be in school at the end. All you want is to be done. No more tests. No more homework. No more having to study. Endless Netflix. A nice day at the pool. Swimsuit and Burks. The lake. It’s such a great time of year! I am especially struggling with this because this school year has been a lot.
So many changes:
-having to learn to study
-having to adjust to living with someone
-having to go to class on your own
-having to make friends
-having to get your own meals on your own time
-having to spend money on a limit
-having to learn patience while living in the same small room as someone else
-having to deal with missing those you love
-having to deal with the worry and stress that is college

The list for this school year could literally go on and on. It’s been a great experience that you will probably hear me dive deep into over the next month as I finish. My point of this little rant is to prove that I am ready for a LONG break. Just when I was ready to give up on Monday, God sent me mail… He does this a lot… Funny how that happens!

The idea behind the lokai bracelet is that each lokai (beed) is infused with elements from the highest and lowest points on Earth. The bracelet’s white bead carries water from Mt. Everest, and its black bead contains mud from the Dead Sea. These extreme elements are a reminder to the wearer to live a balanced life – staying humble during life’s peaks and hopeful during its lows.

I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THAT.
Such a smart idea and such a way to keep constant as we go through life.

Here is the link if you want to look into one… It really is a great reminder!

I love mine and I have a feeling you will love yours! It is something I am happy to be thankful for as I finish freshman year!
Stay Humble. Stay Hopeful. Stay thankful.

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
