THANKFUL FOR: LETTING THE BIBLE BE A LIGHT

October 6, 2015Uncategorized

Sometimes we all need a little light and encouragement in the day. Sometimes we have to find it ourselves. A little thing I learned during Freshman year was to let the bible be that light. This is really simple and easy to do. You get your bible, flip it open, and start reading. God knows what He wants you to do and read. He will guide you. I had kind of forgotten about this, but today I am so thankful I remembered. So I got out my bible tonight and of course turned to the perfect page.

Isaiah 40:1-8 says:

1 Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.
3 A voice of one calling: “In the desert prepare the way for the LORD ; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.
5 And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
6 A voice says, “Cry out.” And I said, “What shall I cry?” “All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field.
7 The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.”

When things seem to be falling apart, ask God to comfort you. Appreciate the comfort and encouragement found in His word and His presence. We can’t let our faith be messed with just because of some bumps in the road. God’s word is constant and in this word we will find all the solutions to our problems.

I think I am going to start doing this everyday. I will let God speak to me and I promise I will listen! You should try it out too! Thank you God for your word and your steadfast love for me. I will ALWAYS be thankful for it!

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful

Hey There

Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God’s steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
