Last night was an extremely fun night because it was Beta, Theta, and Alpha Chi Hometown Throwdown. Everyone dressed up to represent their hometown and it was a really fun event. I, of course, wanted to take the good ole mascot costume, but unfortunately I did not really have a way to get that so I had to settle on something else. I gathered up a camo riceland hat, my duck call, and then, thanks to Mr. Allen, I had a great camo Edward Jones button down. I was pretty proud of my outfit… I feel like it fits the Duck and Rice capitol of the world very nicely. My date, Michelle is from Austin so she rocked out her UT stuff and all in all it was a fun night. Lots of dancing and lots of people!
This event didn’t end until pretty late… So college.
That really isn’t a problem, unless you have to be somewhere the next morning at 8 a.m.
I don’t love the early early mornings, especially when I stay up late the previous night. This event this morning was one I am glad I made it out of bed for.
TCU does a great job at raising all of it’s money to fund projects on campus. Part of this is done through an organization on campus that has a campaign called “Count Me In!”. I had the privilege of being part of this and encouraging other students to donate to some aspect of campus. I, along with everyone else who gave back to the University, was invited to a breakfast with the chancellor this morning at 8 a.m. I was kind of dreading it, but I saw that it was breakfast and I knew I had to go.
1. Because the breakfast was bound to be good
2. Because the chancellor was speaking. We have such a cool chancellor. I always look forward to hearing if speak.
He has been here for some time and he seems to make everyone work in a great way. He loves TCU and all that comes with this campus.
Needless to say, it was worth it.
After that, since I was already up and going I managed to get a lot of my homework done today before my class. I am so glad I did this because that means I have a less stressful weekend.
I know we all love sleep. Trust me… I love sleep. The thing to remember is that as long as you are on a good schedule, which I am now, then you will be good to go. Some nights and mornings like today remind me that I can always sleep when I am dead…. such a true statement. Don’t let a little thing like sleep keep you from enjoying life. Get it all under control and life will be even better.
The past 24 hours have been full of awesome things and I am so thankful for that.
Speaking of sleep, I believe it is time that I finally got some!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
