As much fun as it was celebrating my Janjan and Bia’s 50th Wedding Anniversary, I did have to get back to Fort Worthyesterday (Sunday) for some more celebrating!!
Lately, God has been teaching me a lot about friendship and seriously it has been kind of hard. You all know just as well as I do that, at times, learning is not easy. I am still not really sure what God has been trying to show/teach me in this process…I will eventually find out. BUT I do know that as I walk with him, he is showing me who is steadfast and who is constantly a positive light in my life. That is something I do appreciate. Landon Hendrickson has been one of those lights and I have been thankful for him and his brightness more times than he is probably aware of. Yesterday Landon turned 20 and I just knew he and all of our friends would want to celebrate him. Anyone who knows Landon knows exactly what I am talking about when I say Landon is a light. I planned a little party/dinner for him yesterday and it was evident that so many people love and wanted to make him feel as special as he makes us feel. Landon is so caring, funny, honorable, smart, and overall just a great human being. You ask anyone that knows him and they will agree with me 100%.
I could seriously sit here and write forever about how great of a guy you are. From Frog Camp 2014 Mystery Adventures, rushing together, studying for musical theater, trips to Ohio, to now living down the hall from you, our friendship is constantly evolving and I love it. A lot. I am not sure if you are really aware, but you are a constant encourager to me. I do not know if you do it on purpose or not, but you are so good at it. One of the first times I remember thinking “wow God is literally placing Landon in my life” was when I was taking a musical theater test. We had talked about how I was struggling in that class because the tests were not easy, I am not a good test taker, and it was the first semester of college. I was taking the test and probably stressing to the max because I was one of the last people left in the room and I knew I didn’t have much time left. You were getting up to turn in your test and for like 15 seconds we made eye contact and you gave me this look. (Promise I am not being weird). You smiled and it was almost like I could hear you say, “Hey it’s okay… you are doing great. Keep going. You can do it.” It was one of the best things ever actually. I thought it was all in my head until I left the test and I had a text from you. It was so encouraging and you did mention that you tried to give me a look to say good luck. From that moment I knew God had crossed our paths for a reason. Seriously Landon you are a blessing. Thanks for everything… The list is too long, but I will say thank you for being my friend when at times I feel like I had none. I am so excited to see where our friendship goes next. Oh, and anytime you run 16 miles and feel as if you are going to die I will be there to pick you up, take you to Canes, and assure any concerned citizen that you will be just fine! You have my back and I will always have yours….TBH can’t wait till you’re a surgeon and you can tell me all the fake things that happen in Grey’s… that’s gonna be a fun time! Love you buddy!
Lesson’s from this post:
1. People remember the little things… they can make the biggest difference.
2. God sends you all the things/people you need at the perfect time.
3. Landon is one of the coolest guys ever.
Happy (late) Birthday Landon!! I hope you know that I am thankful for you!
