Viva Las Vegas… Isn’t that what they say?!
So sorry that I have been MIA, but I am currently on a little vacation with my parents. Our schedule has been sort of crazy. Plus, the time difference has thrown me off, but this trip has been so fun so far! I have never been to Las Vegas, but I am glad I have been able to experience it. Those of you who have been, you know what kind of place this is. Once I get home I plan to tell you all about it… I promise! But today, I have something to be thankful for that is way more important than what I’m doing in Vegas. You see, it is my JanJan because it’s her Birthday!!
My JanJan is my Grandmother (we don’t ever call her anything but JanJan; it’s against unwritten family rules). If you know her, you know how special she is. My JanJan has been in my life since the day I was born, and I don’t know what I’d do without her. She makes the best mashed potatoes, generally against by grandfather’s wishes. He, naturally, prefers rice! She always has fresh sweet tea. She is so sassy. She always plays cards with me. She always took me to get snacks on Fridays, as it was “our” day while I was growing up. She always supports me. She has even become a Frog Fan for me!!! She has a talent for being a loving mother and JanJan! Thank you JanJan for being at the center of our family and loving us at our best and worst times. I don’t really think we can put into words how loving, stylish, smart, funny, and simply precious you are. Thanks for learning to text/learning to use social media for me, taking me to some of the best places in the world, and for always making me smile. I can’t wait to celebrate with you! I hope you know how thankful I am for you today and everyday!
Cherish the people you love and let them know that you are thankful for them always! Stay tuned for some insight into my latest adventure! Happy Birthday JanJan! Go out and be thankful!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
What a touching tribute to your JanJan. She is very lucky to have you in her life. She sounds very special as well as your grandfather. I see great things in your future. Linda
