Coming to TCU has been such a great experience and I made a promise to myself that I would get involved because that’s just the kind of person I am. I got most involved in high school and for me not being involved would make things harder than normal. So the first night I was here my RA, she’s super cool, talked about how she needed people to join hall crew. The best I can explain hall crew is that it is basically like the student council of the dorm. She said to come to her for more information so later I went and asked her about it. She was super excited and said I should sign up online. I then go and sign up and find out I have to do an interview… okay I must be honest I almost backed out then, but I thought, “College is all about new things and expanding your horizon. The worst thing that could happen would be that I wouldn’t get it.” So I signed up and went to the interview. When I got in the interview the lady said, “So what leadership position are you interviewing for?” I was like what I’m just here for hall crew? Long story short, I didn’t have to interview to be on hall crew I had to interview for a leadership position on hall crew. I was already there and I had nothing to lose so I told her I’d do position she felt fit me. A week later I get an e-mail saying that I got Hall Crew Leader. I of course didn’t know what that meant. I asked around and someone described it as, “The President of your hall.” I couldn’t believe it!! I went in not knowing anything and came out with an amazing role. I am super excited to help make my hall better and since my dorm will be torn down next year this will be the last hall crew, which makes it extra special! It’s so funny to me how God works things out! Yet another example of why trusting him is the best idea. I am so thankful for this position and this opportunity to reach the people in my dorm and community! God is good!
Also, formal rush starts for men on Saturday and Sunday with bid day on Monday. I would appreciate prayers. I have meet so many great people and have loved the Greek life so far. I just pray that God puts me where I am meant to be. It’s scary, but I have faith that it will all work out.
I am thankful for these two great organizations and thankful for your prayers and support. It means more that you know. THANKFUL ALWAYS!
