As you guys know, a few days after being back in Fort Worth I was presented with the option of selling my shirts at a store in Fort Worth. If that isn’t an answered prayer I don’t know what is! Brown Bag has been so wonderful and I LOVE having my shirts in a store here in Fort Worth. SO special. I was able to sell the Game Day shirts for the last couple of months online and in both Coker Hampton and Brownbag. I honestly am still not over how well that worked out.
As the buzz of the Game Day shirts went down after ordering, reordering, and basically running out, it was time for a new shirt. The worry was back and I wasn’t really sure what to do next. I didn’t have a lot of time to create or plan for a new shirt, but with the help of my t-shirt company, my mom, aunt, and rest of the family… God made that happen and I must say I am overwhelmed with thanks. I actually was able to design more than one shirt because SPOILER….I have a couple more surprises coming before 2016. You are going to be just as happy as I am… I promise.
I will be heading home for the holidays in a few days and because I have only been home once this semester, I am more than ready to be back there. Many people travel home for the holidays and I found it fitting that we all need to be thankful for that. Thus, Thankful for Home was born and I am in love with it. God is SO good. They are one color (Icy Blue) and long-sleeve. I am very excited and I hope you all like them as much as I do!
When I woke up this morning I launched the shirt and went back to sleep until class. When I woke up I had several messages from friends and family congratulating me on this shirt (best thing ever) and a couple of different people sent me a screen shot of something Sadie Robertson had posted. She was doing an event in Dallas and my friends were thinking I should go to the event, find her, and give her one of my new shirts. Best idea EVER.
Tonight, I got to meet one of the coolest God centered people I have ever met. I have always appreciated Sadie because of how she uses her gifts. She has millions of followers on Instagram, she is a model, designer, a dancer, and a reality tv star, but what I most admire about her is how she puts God first and at the center of everything she does AND she is not afraid to tell people about it. She is changing people everyday. She is doing the Lord’s work like no other. She is the type of person we need more of in this world. I could not think of a better person to give the new southern and thankful shirt to. I hope you really enjoy it and I hope it reminds you that there is always something to be thankful for… especially when you are home!
Sadie was so down to earth in person and I really appreciate how kind she was. I enjoyed getting to tell her about Southern and Thankful and sharing a little of my walk with her after she commented on my phone case. Very cool girl. Unforgettable moment. I am not sure what she will do with the shirt. I mean for all I know some stranger could have it by now. I don’t really care what happens because the great thing is that I was hopefully able to impact her life in a small way AND God worked the whole thing out. Just like He does everything else!
I am so blessed and I am constantly reminded of that everyday. Thank you for the love, kind words, and support from the beginning to now! Also, huge thanks to God for being the best guide and walking with me through the step of building this brand. And how cool that today‘s path included a visit with Sadie Robertson. God is good and I am thankful… All the time!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
You never cease to amaze me!! Your new shirt is perfect, and I want to order a couple. The picture of you and Sadie is darling! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving at home with your family. Love, Granna
