A. Gone from Fort Worth for the weekend
Or
B. In Fort Worth with parents running a Mom’s or Dad’s weekend
Not that either of those is a bad thing, but that means for the past 7 weeks I have packed a bag every
Friday and unpacked a bag every Sunday. I was so ready to be at TCU for a weekend. No planes, road trips, hotels, etc.I was in need of some time that was not scheduled so strictly!
Friday was such a fun time because I was invited to accompany the coolest gal, Virginia, to the Chi Omega formal!!! It was so fun because great weather, I had a killer outfit, fun grilled cheese from the food truck park, frozen custard, tswift jamming, and lots of moves on the dance floor. I really enjoyed this event not only for this reason, but because I didn’t really know Virginia. I knew of her and I heard great things about her, but I never got to meet her. I had such a fun time getting to know her and hearing her TCU story!! Thanks for a fun time, Virginia!!!
Saturday I had Frog Camp training starting at 8:45 a.m.
WHAT IS SLEEP?!
This was really helpful for me because I felt like I learned several things that would help me this summer when I have my own frog camp group. Plus, I got to spend some time with my cool co! I cannot wait for August to get here!!! I have already stated praying for my future campers as they finish up senior year and move towards that awkward transition of becoming a freshman in college. That time held a lot of different emotions for me. I may not know who my campers are yet, but I am going to happily lift them up in my prayers until I am able to meet them. I already know they are going to be so cool!!
After frog camp I went back to my bed where I planned to potentially take a nap, but who has time for naps these days anyway? My friend Landon came in and said, “Wanna do something adventurous?”
I am not one to really turn down adventure. So of course, I said yes!! We got in the car and drove- just drove. It felt nice to do something so freeing. We kind of decided it would be cool to find a town similar to Stuttgart, AR. You know, out of the city and into the country. And boy oh boy did we find a place.
Stay tuned!!!
I promise I will eventually get back on schedule. I really feel like I can’t keep up with life anymore and the fact that I am now behind on here is stressing me out. I would love to keep writing, but I really need to get to bed! Promise I will eventually fill you in.
In the mean time I would love some prayers. Two weeks from today is the last day of class and I have an unreal amount of things that have to happen in these next two weeks. And then finals. Wow I hate to say it, but I am officially ready to wrap this semester up. I just pray for productivity, patience, and wisdom as I work hard to finish strong.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid: do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
Trying to stay thankful through it all. And how could I not be thankful with all these fun things going on?!! College, y’all.
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
