THANKFUL FOR: FLANNELS AND JOY

February 1, 2015Uncategorized

Another weekend has come and gone, and it has been a pretty great one! It was kind of strange because normally I have a lot to do. I feel like I don’t get very much down time on the weekends. Part of that is college for you, but part of that is simply having a lot of homework and studying to do. But this weekend I had a lot of extra time. Let’s remember this moment because I know this is the calm before the storm, and I know I will be very jealous when it comes to being busy this time next weekend! But it was pretty nice! I have watched Netflix (which is literally a one of my favorite things to do) and had some good times. Last night, my fraternity had an event where the theme was flannel. FLANNELS. If you have read Southern and Well Dressed then you know I am a huge fan of flannels. I have several because they are so warm and they are so in right now! Obviously this was a good theme for me! It was pretty fun! My favorite moment from the night was seeing my sweet friend Cora! Cora is one of the sweetest people I know, and she said that she came just to see me. How nice is that? She is such a joy, and is the perfect example of making new friends in college! Thanks for coming Cora, and thank you for being so nice to me. You literally make my day! Let’s hangout soon please!!
Today, I went to church, and listened to a great sermon about finding the joy in every situation. It couldn’t have been any better! I mean it was so true and so important for us college students to hear. We are doing a study on Philippians and I always look forward to going to church every Sunday. That is such a great feeling for me. I will def take this lesson from today and use it to my advantage for the rest of the semester! Then the rest of the day I have just studied and of course I watched the Super Bowl. I really wanted the Denver Broncos to be in the Super Bowl.. so I honestly watched for the commercials and the half-time show. AHHH Kathy Perry. Please noticed my edit below. I love her, and I would die if she saw that… She won’t, but I mean it is pretty funny! I think she did a pretty good job. The firework show was awesome! I know that some people weren’t very happy, but I mean I like her music so I liked her performance! Overall I have had a pretty good weekend I would say. It is weird because first semester is so busy because of football games, but I would say I am fine with having a little more time on my hands! This weekend has been full of joy and learning about how. It is so important to find the joy in life, and then be thankful for it at the end of the day! I am thankful for a joyous weekend, and I will carry this joy with me throughout the week. I hope you all have a wonderful week. Stay joyfully thankful friends!

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful

Hey There

Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God’s steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
