My Dad came in
on Thursday night, which was fun. We went to one of my favorite places and the the next morning he actually got to come on an official TCU tour with me! My Mom got to come on one back in February so I was excited he was getting the opportunity also. I talk a lot about giving tours and I think it is fun that my parents have had the opportunity to come along with me!Friday night we went to the first TCU conference game and we had our own party patio! I was real nervous because rain was predicted, but I never saw any rain…praise the Lord. We all had a fun time and TCU even pulled out a win! Huge thanks to the baseball ticket office for working with me and making it a great time for all!
Saturday we went to Top Golf. You may not know what that exactly is, but that’s okay because before Saturday I did not know either! It is basically like bowling, but golfing! I actually really enjoyed it. We had our own space and a room with a buffet set up for brunch. Highly recommend doing an event at Top Golf. Their staff was so great to work with. I thought I would be doing a ton of work and that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it, but I really didn’t have to do anything after I got there. They are awesome! Dad and I both really enjoyed this. If it would have been a little less windy that would have been great. I can control a lot of things, but sadly I cannot control the weather!
My friend Patrick and I then took our Dad’s to a great burger spot in Fort Worth! Love that place.
Saturday night I made a reservation for us all at this local sports bar and it was a big hit. I never could get them to call me back, so I decided to take that off the weekend schedule, but then last Wednesday they called wanting to confirm my reservation. Two weird things about this:
1. I never made a reservation.
2. I had just heard 5 minutes earlier that it might rain Friday night.
Needless to say, God was looking out! Just goes to show you that everything works out the correct way!
Sunday, Dad left and Dad’s weekend was officially over. A weight was lifted off my shoulders for a couple of hours, but then the stress of this coming week set in. It is okay though because I can do this. I am happy to be here and learning!
Thanks to all the Dad’s and guys that thanked me for my work. I do a lot of the behind scenes stuff and it means a lot when people recognize that! I encourage you to remember that. Whatever you do odds are someone plays a huge part in that. Try and thank them. It is more important that you know!
Continued prayers as I try my hardest to make it through this very busy week! I am thankful for my Dad’s and all the Dad’s that made Dad’s weekend extra special for me!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
