Anyways, I’ll tell you all about that tomorrow! Right now I want to share a little thing I got to do today that made me extremely thankful for the efforts that people make to impact a child’s life at Cook’s Children’s Hospital. This is a local hospital for children and a lot of the patients at this hospital are suffering from some type of cancer. You’d think it would be a sad place, but Cook’s is always blooming with life. As a members of Beta Theta Pi, that is our philanthropy. For the past two years we have held “giving heART” which is an art action that showcases patients at Cook’s artwork. One of the big focuses at Cook’s is the art and expression center at the hospital where patients can come and express themselves, especially when they are going through hard times. They have a broadcasting center, a music room, and many other ways these children can help themselves grow and experiment in various art forms. Beta gives to this center every year because they are always adding things and wanting to make it better. Today me and a few others had the opportunity of presenting the hospital with a giant/cool check written for over 12,000 dollars. How neat is that? They were so thankful for our work and generosity. I just wanted to write and say that we are thankful for them. They are making such an impact in this community and in this world and they are doing it in such a unique way. I can’t imagine how excited the kids get when they are able to use this center. Cook’s is doing wonderful things. They are not only helping others heal, but they are teaching others that anyone and everyone can help in any way. Thank you Cook’s for being a light in the community and in my fraternity chapter. We are thankful for you and your patients!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
