I would have to say one thing that I miss most about my mother is her obsession with cookie dough. I can remember being little and my mother teaching me the best part of baking cookies is when you sample the dough before hand. It always made me so mad because then we would never be able to have hardly any cookies. Some of the times we have boned most have been over cookie dough. When I was home this weekend, my mother informed me that she had ordered all of this cookie dough and of course I said we had to make some. The best part was that it was sinker doodle cookies which are my FAVORITE. So after we munched on traditional razorback ball watching snakes my mom and I ate dough and she made me some cookies. I may or may not be very hungry right now so this could be why this idea popped into my head when I was thinking about what all there is to be thankful for! It is something so simple, but it is one thing that I will always love and cherish about my mom. I look forward to being home again soon and having more cookie dough talks with ya Mom! Unfortunately, I didn’t get to bring any back to school… Wonder who is finishing them up for me? HMMMM. I am thankful for this time and common love my mother and I share. It makes me bad days so much better and no matter where I am you can rest easy knowing that there will always be a cookie dough party when I return. I love this “tradition” and I love my mother. Cherish and be thankful for simple things in life like this. God rarely makes things simple… Be thankful for what he does make simple… there is a reason for that! Mother, don’t eat all the dough, I want some on fall break… hahaha I am so so thankful for memories and tasty treats that I will never forget!
