Thursday night I was invited to an event called MyTie held by the Gamma Phi sorority, and I had such a great time!! The girl who asks you gives you a tie to wear and then you and everyone else go to dinner! Most of the ties are more goofy and fun! So for example, mine was a clip on tie! Then we went to Cantina Laredo in downtown Fort Worth. You may or may not know this about me, but Cantina Laredo is one of my favorite places!!! They have the best cheese dip ever!! Needless to say, I approved of the venue. Then after the event some of us went blowing… haven’t done that in a while.
Side note: In high school I took bowling class for college credit. I even had tests in that class… Needless to say I can bowl.
Or I thought I could bowl. Out of everyone that went I was dead last. AND I TOOK COLLEGE BOWLING CLASS. I mean I do not know what happened to me. It’s fine we are going to go back and I will do better next time, right?
Huge thanks to my sweetest friend Michelle Lowell for taking me to MyTie. I honestly don’t know what I would do without our friendship. I am always thankful for you my friend!
Last night, Jesse McCartney came to TCU and all students got to go for free so that was really cool. Lots of girls were in attendance because they were obsessed with him back in the day or something. I was not, but it was still cool to go for fun and for FREE!!
Today was a nice typical Saturday. Doing some homework, hanging with friends, etc.
I am now going to bed with a very content heart. I have been thinking a lot about contentment lately for some reason. I often struggle with not being content in my life. I’m often wishing for other things or anxiously awaiting the future that I forget to praise God for the moment I am in. Things are good. I am content in my God. That is something to be thankful for. I encourage you to be content as you go from day to day. I am learned it adds a little extra thanks to my heart.
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
