In college, I have learned that everyone’s tests seem to come all at once. One week, everything will be fine and life is good. Then the next everyone is studying and/or stressed because they have 4 tests in one week. I mean how stressful is that? Kinda of hurts your head, huh? At TCU we are currently in that “stressed cause test” period that no one likes. Luckily for me, I finished my last string of tests this afternoon and I am done for a couple of weeks. Thank you God! Sadly, many haven’t even began their testing period or are right in the middle of it. I am telling you, if you don’t understand what I am talking about, you must know it really isn’t a fun thing. In high school you have tests all the time, but they don’t require as much study time as college exams do. All I have been doing since Saturday is studying. It gets so old so fast. I am so tired, but good news is that I had a nice little visitor today that made things a little better.
I am on Hall Crew which is a group, within your dorm, that plans and puts on fun events in the dorm to help the students interact. This is very important for my dorm because we are known for our great sense of community. I love our community, therefore I love planning things to make it the best place it can be. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, we wanted to do a Valentines themed event, but we weren’t really sure what that could be. I mean people like making valentines cards, but that is a little basic. We needed something to make it special, ya know? I don’t remember whose idea it was, but someone on our crew had the idea to bring in a cute dog to come in and play with the residents. Basically being everyones valentine. I mean what a great idea! And guess what? It just so happens that we scheduled this event right in the middle of this “stressed cause tests” time. I mean it really couldn’t have been a better thing! So today the cutest dog, Phoebe, came to Brachman to comfort all of us. She is a Golden Retriever and she was the cutest most sweetest dog. She was trained to comfort people. This means she doesn’t bark or lick. She just lets you love on her, which we all know people need to love. They are from a local church and they said that they prayed for all of us before they came. They said they prayed for us to have a great semester and that we would find our purpose in God’s time. Needless to say, the comfort dog served its purpose. What a wonderful group this is that goes around comforting various people in the community. I had never heard of such a thing, but I thought it was so cool. I think all of us at Brachman are thankful for a little comfort from the cutest dog today. Remember that you can find comfort in many areas of life. The important lesson here is to be thankful for all the great feelings comfort brings us. Maybe this bring you comfort? I will sure pray for that! I am thankful today for Phoebe and her generous comfort.
