THANKFUL FOR: CLASS ENROLLING AKA THE COLLEGE HUNGER GAMES

November 16, 2015Uncategorized

For those of you who don’t know, enrolling for classes is the college version of the Hunger Games.

***speaking of The Hunger Games the final movie comes out Thursday and I am pumped***

Anyways, enrolling is super stressful in the moment and what makes it so stressful is not ever knowing what is going to happen. Each student has an enrollment time. Each student has to meet with his or her advisor. Each student can prepare and build his or her schedule, but it all comes down to the moment when you log on to sign up. Most of the time at least 1 of those classes that you planned and worked out to a perfect tee are going to be full, which means you then have two options:

1. Waitlist it and hope you get in. But even then, you should probably add another class for backup incase you do not get in.

2. Find another class at a different time, which will probably conflict with a class that wasn’t full and then starts a big chain reaction of redoing your whole schedule before all the classes are full.

I always always try to avoid this. For some reason I feel like the more I prepare and work things out it will help when it comes time to enroll. It never works y’all. Today I enrolled and sure enough I had to go into panic mode because a couple of my classes didn’t work and it just threw everything off. I should have known, honestly! I am waitlisted in one class so I don’t really know my exact schedule  because now it is just a waiting game. Hopefully I will get in that class and then drop the backup class I enrolled in, but I won’t know until I get that lucky moment!

I tell you all of this to  remind you that we can plan and we can scheme. We can write hings down in our planner all day long, but none of this is going to stop God’s plan coming true for us. He knows all. It is pretty cool if you think about it. I was stressed for about 2.5 seconds, but I think I am really starting to remember that He has a plan. I have to constantly remind myself of this, but today I just felt a sense of peace with my schedule. I know it will work itself out. May not be on my timeline, but it will eventually and that is something to be thankful for.

I hope you will take this into consideration as you go throughout this week!
Also, be on the lookout… I believe I have some exciting news coming towards the end of the week! AHHHH I cannot wait. Get ready and of course get thankful!

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
