Okay so here I go again bragging about TCU. I mean honestly I could brag everyday, but I don’t really feel like that is necessary considering they don’t even follow me on insta. When they do that, then we will talk. Anyways, I am bragging today because they have some of the BEST employees. I mean seriously. All over campus. It is so cool to me because some of the nicest workers have the littlest jobs. Some of the workers in the bluu, who sit there all day swiping ID’s, have the best attitude. I mean I would probably be bored out of my mind. I would defiantly not be so perky all day long. With all the great workers at TCU there is one that is pretty special to me.
But first, let me backtrack.
So our cafeteria is on the second floor of this building and our Chick Fil A is on the first. Nine times out of ten I go to the Bluu (cafeteria), but get distracted on the way and end up at Chick Fil A because it’s on the first floor. Do you see my issue? So I am a frequent visitor is what I am saying! When I first came to campus (gosh those days make me kinda sad) I felt really alone. A lot of people felt alone. I felt almost invisible. I went to Chick and as I ordered I was kind of blown away. This women just starts talking so fast asking what I want, how I am, complementing me and saying “my baby” after every sentence. “Was she talking to me?” I remember thinking. She was SO NICE. She made me feel so at home. She made me feel happy. She made little me, who felt so alone, feel so loved. She made me feel special. I will never forget that. Her name is Carrie and she is a blessing to TCU and everyone she comes into contact with. For those of you who know who I am talking about, then you understand, but for those of you who don’t, you have to understand how awesome she is. I know Chick Fil A workers are supposed to be nice to a certain extent, but she is a genuinely a nice. happy human being. You don’t get very many of those these days.
I am sure you are wondering how I came up with Carrie today! Okay so my class got cancelled again (praise his holy name) and I went to Chick Fil A for lunch. There she was. Making everyone smile. Making me smile! I went up to order and she started talking all fast again. She talks so fast all you can really do is give your order, say thanks and ask how she is. But today Carrie changed it up.
“My baby why haven’t you been visiting me?”
Carrie see’s so many kids everyday, but the fact that she remembered me made my day. I explained how most of my classes were during lunch, which is when she works, so we have kind of been missing each other. I was so shocked that she knew me. She made me feel important. She made me feel at home. I wanted to jump over that counter and give her a hug. After I got my food and the lunch crowd had gone down she came over to my table to ask how I was doing and I thanked her. I then told her about my blog and how I was thankful for her. I gave her a hug and asked her to take a selfie with me. She, of course, did and then said, “My baby do you have my number. You need to send that to me!” Next time, I will have to get her number and send her our picture! I am so thankful today for Carrie because I know I am not the only one who had their days made by this angel. She represents what TCU is all about and I hope that one day I can be as happy as her doing whatever God has planned for me. I can’t really tell you how much this means to me, but it means a whole lot. Just another reason why I love TCU and another reason why I love Chick Fil A. Today I am thankful for Carrie because she loves life and loves others just because she can. There is no one better. Thanks, Carrie. You make eating so much Chick Fil A worth it! Take advance of the strangers God sends your way. They come your way for a reason and I am willing to bet they are just as great as my friend Carrie!
