It is sad, but one thing almost everyone can agree on is that they have been impacted by cancer in some way or another. Family, friends, or even people you might follow on social media are affected by cancer everyday. It breaks my heart. I learned early on that cancer was one of the worst things ever. I hate it. I hate what it does to people and I hate what it is doing to this world we live in. October is breast cancer awareness month, which means the word “cancer” has been seen more than any other time of the year. I know you all feel the same about cancer and that is why I feel it is important to donate to the UAMS Cancer Research center. We need a cure. It may not do much at all, but at least I can say I tried. UAMS is a wonderful facility and they are working day in and day out to help those trapped by this disease. My heart is full knowing we are doing something to make a difference.
This donation is extra special because I am going to be making it in honor of someone very special to me. My mom’s best friend and basically my second mother Stacey Homra is battling cancer as I type. She has always loved and supported me for as long as I can remember and I want to take this opportunity to do the same for her. The Homra family has and always will have a special place in my heart because they are family. I have personally seen cancer affect several people in my town and in this world. On behalf of Mrs. Stacey, Southern and Thankful wants to show love to them this month by donating to UAMS cancer research. I love you lots Mrs. Stacey!
Cancer is one thing I will never understand why God created. Never. It makes no sense, but God is funny like that sometimes. We aren’t suppose to understand everything He does. We are supposed to trust that He has us in the palm of His hand. We have to trust in Him and His plan. I have friends who battle this disease. I have family that battles this disease. I am tired of seeing cancer take control.
I am thankful for those who fight cancer daily, especially my Mrs. Stacey! They teach me what it is to fight and be strong. That is something I will never forget. Here’s to beating cancer and making a difference in that fight. Thanks to those of you who bought a Southern and Thankful product this month. This is for you! Never stop fighting and never stop being thankful… Even when cancer seems to try and take the best of you. Remember, God has a plan and if He is in your ring fighting with you, you will always have the best strength.
