THANKFUL FOR: BEARD BACK HOME

November 30, 2015Uncategorized

Today as I was laying on my couch watching Christmas movies, feeling the warmth of the fire, and gazing at the Christmas decorations, I realized that Thanksgiving break was such a tease. It was much needed, but it is never long enough. I decided the faster I got back to TCU the faster I could take finals and that meant the faster I got back home for a real break. Thank goodness I quickly gathered this mentality or else I think I would still be at home on my couch refusing to come back to reality. I always love thanksgiving break and I feel so blessed leaving home. I have the best family, incredible friends, and a wonderful hometown. This week was SOOOO good. I got to do some work with Southern and Thankful tees that I think you will be excited for! I watch some movies, caught up on my shows, black Friday shopped, ate delicious food, ate too much cookie dough, showed off my bread, and I was reminded of how loved I am. It is so funny how hard it is to enjoy the moment when we are in it. Last Monday was such a great day, but at the time I felt so stressed. I went to class, packed, went to the airport, watched Netflix, flew home, was reunited with the fam, and ate homemade chicken and dumplings by the light of the Christmas tree. I would do anything to go back to that day! Ahhhh I am so looking forward to Christmas break. 18 days people. 18 days!!

I am also super thankful because Hillary and I were on the same flight back. PRAISE THE LORD. I am not one who loves traveling alone, especially when I have to come back. There is always so much to come back to and the people waiting on you are never as excited to see you as your mom and dad are. Hopefully Hill and I can do that more often since she is in Dallas now! Seriously thanking God for working that out the way He did. It made coming back on a cold rainy day a thousand times better!! Love you lots, Hill!

Going home was a huge blessing and it was so funny because I went home with a new look. I have never in my life grown facial hair. I am a daily shaver, but this year I decided to participate in no shave November. Partly for fun, but partly because of the cool message it has these days. TCU IFC raised money for men’s health this month by having every fraternity participate in no shave November. I thought this was a great cause because men’s health is so important and it is often overlooked. So yes the facial hair did have a little meaning behind it!

This month a percentage of Southern and Thankful shirt sales will be going to this great cause for men’s health. I knew from the start of this month and I am so happy to share with you how YOU also helped in this cause. I and many men around the world thank you!

Sadly, the bread will be leaving in a couple of days. Get a glimpse while you can… It is time for me to become a little less amoish looking! (LOL).
Super thankful for facial hair and a much needed thanksgiving break! Here’s to a new month, beating finals, and getting back to my couch/family/christmas tree. Lots to look forward to and lots to be thankful for!

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful

Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God’s steadfast love.
