1.I love any occasion to wear a bowtie.
2.I had never been to Austin before… I am now obsessed with it.
We were literally only there for about 24 hours, but man did we make some memories. Memories I am so thankful for.
I have to start out by saying how thankful I am for my date. Brooke Wong, you have rocked my socks off since the day I meet you. You have such a drive and a spirit that is so unique. I love being your friend and I consider it a huge honor to take you to my formal. It was so much fun with you and I wouldn’t have wanted to ask anyone else!
Brooke’s a great friend and she was a wonderful date. You all know how much I appreciate great friends in my life. Apparently when you have an away formal it is custom for the girl to make the guy a cooler….Brooke is super artsy and so creative. She made tons of coolers for other people so I told her I didn’t mind if she didn’t have time to make me one. Secretly I was hoping she would because I knew whatever she did would be BOMB. And oh how I was right. Please see the pictures below. It is so me and I love everything about it. If that wasn’t enough, she also got these custom made cookies, also pictures below, and they are the coolest things I have ever seen. She got one that is the state of Texas, one that is a Vineyard Vines Whale, two Beta cookies, and one with my name. I don’t want to eat them because they are so perfect. She also got me a piece of pie from our favorite place in Fort Worth. Brooke can I just say that I am so thankful for how special you made this weekend? I loved exploring Austin with you, getting directions from you, dancing the night away with you, being stranded with you, eating great food with you… Hell I just loved being with you. I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. I am SO thankful for you! ILY!
I would also like to give a shout out to the social chair of Beta, Chris Pozzi. He has done a great job and I am so thankful we have someone like him planning and leading our social events.
According to the hotel, we were a great group and they loved having us. Makes the whole weekend worth it wouldn’t you say?
I so enjoyed this fun time with all of my friends. Ice cream, 5 hours of sleep, lots of dancing, a missed bus, an uber ride, and lots of laughs this weekend make me so thankful for TCU. As the year comes to an end and I look back at this weekend I can’t help but think about when I thought something like this was impossible. God has blessed me in more ways than one. I had a great weekend, a great date, a great group of friends, a great fraternity, and an all-together great life. I am forever thankful!
