Today, I am thankful that God brought Ashley Hopson into the world 18 years ago. Even though I have not known Ashley all of this time, I do know that the short time we have been friends, she has made a huge impact on me, as she has with many others. I remember the first time I heard her name. It was at Junior Queen mallard the year she actually won and I seriously remember thinking, “Who is this girl?” God always seems to surprise me and boy did he answer my question. She is a beauty on the inside and out. She is a pageant girl. She has a bad sense of direction. She has a heart of gold. She loves lotus. She is an amazing dancer. She especially taps like no other. She is in love with Texas University. She will always be a Hog. She has the best mother. She gives the best gifts. She cracks her phone typically. She can rap. She would marry Justin Timberlake if offered. She is awkward… in a good way. She didn’t wear her crown once because, “she didn’t want to draw attention to herself.” She hates to be late, but she and I are both so good at it. She and I both have a lead foot. She and I both love NYC. She has a coffee filter dress. She loves the Lord. She is one of my best friends. She is truly one of a kind. You have always loved and supported me and I appreciate that more than you know. It is only right that I was thankful for you today… Also, please know that I am thankful for you everyday, but especially today! If you all were wondering, the first time I actually did something with Ashley was when she was in the 7th grade and I was in the 8th. For some reason she tagged along on a date I was on. This was at the McDonalds and my love for Ashley began right there inside of that nasty playground. Since then I have been honored to support you and go on double dates with you and get you the most likes to win a pageant scholarship because I love you. I hope your day was truly special and I cannot wait to see you in a few short hours. You are something everyone is thankful for and that is a special quality unlike any other. Happy Birthday Ash!
