Fall Break was so great! I had the opportunity to go home with Michelle to Austin and attend a music festival, Austin City Limits (ACL). It was not something I typically jump at the opportunity to do, but I am so glad I did. This music festival was Friday-Sunday. We got to go everyday and listen to great music and eat fabulous food. We saw musicians like The Weeknd, Drake, Florence and The Machine, A$AP Rocky, Walk The Moon, and more. I always love seeing someone live after listening to their music on the radio or through headphones. I am a huge fan of Austin and I enjoyed this experience for sure. They also had delicious food. On Sunday, I had this grilled cheese from this place that only served different grilled cheeses. It was to die for!! Just ask my friends… I haven’t stopped talking about it yet! We also had this chile watermelon and it was very interesting. I mean I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it… if that makes sense. Very creative to combine to opposites together! But I shouldn’t really expect anything less from the city everyone keeps weird!
Huge thank you to Michelle and her family for opening their home to us for this long weekend. They took us to and from ACL everyday, they fed us, they opened their home to a bunch of college students on fall break… now that says a lot! I had such a great time! It would not have been the same without the Ross Family!
I am super thankful that I got to experience ACL. People always talk about it… Now I know what all the talk is about! Fall Break was much needed. Now on to the second half of the semester.
Speaking of that, I have a test tomorrow and I would really appreciate any and every prayer anyone wants to give. It is in accounting… SO FUN…And I really need to do well. Mainly I just need to have confidence that I am smart enough. Think of me around 10 a.m. tomorrow!
Music, Food, and Friends made for a great fall break. Super thankful for the opportunity to do these kinds of things! Until next time Austin, stay weird and most importantly, stay thankful!
Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful
