THANKFUL FOR: A GIFT FROM THE GROUNDHOG

February 2, 2015Uncategorized

Don’t you just love those little furry fellows who emerge from the ground every February? I mean how could you not? Okay well I honestly I don’t really like them because they always seem to bring colder weather. Like today for example when he stepped out and saw his shadow. Hello 6 more weeks of winter. Nobody likes that TBH. But today I seem to be kind of pleased with the day. I am not happy about the 6 more weeks of winter, but when I got up this morning I didn’t see my shadow… I saw a e-mail that read “no class today.” Yes, one of my classes got cancelled. One of my MONDAY classes got cancelled. How nice is that? My thoughts do go out to my teacher who cancelled class because she had the flu, but I am still pretty thankful for my gift from the groundhog. Not that I didn’t want to go to class, but don’t you just love the feeling of not having class? It is one of my favorites! I was able to get a lot done today and I even got to have a quick lunch with some of my friends at Chick Fil A! I mean if I would have been in class that would not have happened! Today, in my free time I really got to laughing at how we all look towards the groundhog like he’s the weather man or something? Some of the traditions in this world are very unique! The groundhog must have known I was going to be upset with the seeing of the shadow and he left me a gift which I thought was so sweet of him. So thanks little guy. I appreciate it! Your shadow put a damper on my day, but the no class made up for that for sure! I hope that each of you had a great start to your week and I hope that just as you listen to the weather predictions from the groundhog, you also listen to the life predictions from God. He has great things planned and will usually share if you take the time to really listen and be thankful. Six more weeks of winter? It’s all good cause I am still thankful!

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful

Hey There

Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God’s steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
