THANKFUL FOR: A FORT WORTH SUNSET

March 16, 2015Uncategorized

Okay so I am not really sure if I have ever noticed this before, but Fort Worth has some great sunsets. Where I am from, ARCO as many refer to it, the sunsets are hand painted by God himself. I am sure of it. They are so beautiful. It’s funny because when it’s like this, you don’t even have to worry about missing it because you will see it all over Instagram and snapchat. It’s okay though because I could look at that all day long. The sky is especially beautiful this time of year because the sun goes down a little later. It makes me ready for summer so bad! I have never really noticed it being as pretty in Fort Worth. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention or maybe none have really caught my attention because I am so used to the country sunsets. I sometimes forget that I do live in a big city.

Anyways, after studying all day and being bummed that I couldn’t spend more of the day outside, I went to my night class to take my test and I made a B. Praise the Lord I made a B!!! It was in math so I was kind of worried because it isn’t my best subject. I go back to my dorm, after talking to my dad to share the good news and get a little encouragement from him, I looked up and saw a beautiful sunset. One like I typically see at home. It was weird, but at the same time, very fitting. It was like God saying:
“You got this. No matter where you are in this world, you can always see my beauty and know I am there with it.”

Sometimes you just have to stop and take in everything around you. Life passes by too quickly to forget that. God is everywhere and He is present in all we do. He makes all things good and bad. Pretty and ugly. Strong and weak. Small and big. Hot and Cold. Rich and Poor. Bright and dull.

After seeing this sunset, I was reminded that it was something to be thankful for.

I pray that I have a productive day of studying again tomorrow and I pray that I am reminded to take things one day at a time. Life is too good to be stressed. Carry that with you this week and be oh so thankful!

Yours Truly,
Southern and Thankful

Hey There

Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God’s steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way. A recent graduate from Texas Christian University who loves pop culture, TikToks, and dress pants that make you do a double take.  I pray God has a grand purpose for me and I plan to get there with a little Southern and a lot of Thanks!
